Anyone who lives in Denver, Colorado knows it's home to many outdoor activities—especially those involving dogs! Spending time outdoors with your dog can be one of the most rewarding experiences. However, as dog ownership has grown, many cities have implemented stricter leash laws. But dogs need to run! Fortunately, Denver and its surrounding communities have embraced dog parks to give your furry friend the freedom they deserve.

Though we haven't visited all dog parks in Denver yet, here are our three favorite Denver dog parks so far.
With its size, ponds, views, and trail system, it's hard to beat this open space. Right outside the park are great on-leash trails as well. Its main drawback would be the crowds and the entry cost. Although Scooter doesn't mind either!
With many of the same benefits as Chatfield, Cherry Creek State Park dog park has lots of open space and great areas for your dog to swim. Again, the costs are a drawback, but there are very few areas in Denver where your dog would have so much freedom. Recent upgrades have made it much more enjoyable and definitely worth the cost.
Outside of its 17-acre size and great views, the agility course adds fun elements to this special Denver dog park. It also has another ~1.5 mile on-leash trail right next to the dog park. Though this park is free, it gets very crowded at times, and recent popularity has removed vegetation, making it muddy after rain or snow.
We got our dog Scooter in March 2010. One of the many things he has taught us is that he loves to explore. However, getting to the mountains is time-consuming, and with Denver's growing population, many closer trails where we used to let dogs run free are too busy nowadays. So we turned to dog parks.
Scooter loves variety in his Denver dog parks, but finding information about local dog parks was very difficult. That's why we set out to find and document all the dog parks in Denver—to help other dog owners like you!
